Ben’s incredible vintage-inspired designs caught our eye when we were looking for a logo, so we asked him to create something special for us. From the moment we saw his first rough pencil sketches of our BANDITS logo, we knew it was a match made in graphic design heaven. After he created such a timeless and perfect logo, we knew we had to have him create a design for our launch collection. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBen told us that he takes cues from design and typography from the 20s, 30s, and 40s, and indeed his creations feel transported a bygone era. True to form, he still draws most of his illustrations by hand before digitally converting them. Ben’s logos, illustrations, and designs have appeared on work for brands like Yeti, Knickerbocker Manufacturing Co., Sable Bourbon, and others.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003eThe Design: \"Good Luck\"\u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe design is inspired by trying times in life and the ways in which we find comfort or hope to get through them. We at BANDITS consider ourselves \u003cu\u003every\u003c\/u\u003e lucky to feature Ben’s work as a integral part of our launch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003eThe Charity: reStart KC (Kansas City, Missouri)\u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ereStart KC provides housing and supportive services to help homeless men, women, youth and families in the Kansas City area move toward independence and self-sufficiency. reStart is the ONLY homeless agency in Kansas City serving all homeless populations—singles, couples, gay, straight and trans-gendered individuals, and unaccompanied youth ages 12-18, as well as non-traditional families, persons with HIV\/AIDS, and individuals recently released from prison or from psychiatric hospitalization.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince 1981, reStart’s goal has remained the same—to end homelessness in Kansas City.  This ambitious goal has made reStart a leader in innovative approaches to ending homelessness. Their innovation has opened doors to all homeless persons in need. The bushrangers were outlaws who famously robbed coaches and lived off of the land during the height of the 1800's Australian gold rush. Tales of the bushrangers evading authorities with their superior horsemanship, survival skills, and gunslinging courage evolved into things of legend. As time went on the legend only grew and the bushrangers became national symbols of rebellion, individuality, and rugged toughness. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAccording to Faye, \"The design is my interpretation of an outlaw's life in the bush.\" \u003c\/span\u003eIn addition to traditional symbols of the bushranger lifestyle, Faye incorporated native flora and and earthy color palette to reflect the unique beauty Australia. By tying together historical legend, the natural landscape, and modern design, Faye created a piece that truly conveys the sense of \"mateship\" and the laid back attitude that characterize what it means to be \"Aussie.\"  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch6\u003eThe Charity: Akashinga (Zimbabwe)\u003c\/h6\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Akashinga (which means \"The Brave Ones\" in the Shone language of Zimbabwe) is an elite all-female anti-poaching unit of the International Anti Poaching Foundation (IAPF). The project empowers women from disadvantaged communities across Zimbabwe, allowing them to join forces and combat illegal trophy hunting in the country. The women manage a massive network of wilderness areas using an an innovative community-driven approach. Though they are expertly trained trained to deal with any situation they may face, the team has an interpersonal focus, working with rather than against the local population for the long-term benefits of their own communities and nature.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFaye was born and raised in Zimbabwe and Botswana, and thus has a genetic and spiritual connection to Africa's wildlife and indigenous people. She strongly believes in supporting Akashinga, IAPF, and others on the frontline combatting poaching of Africa's precious species.
